Shareware Industry Awards Pretty much everyone has heard about shareware by now - programs whose authors chose to sell the product themselves, foregoing the typical commercial outlets. This approach gives the author more control over the product, including more financial benefits from its sale. Each year, the very best of the shareware is honored as part of the Shareware Industry Awards - basically a peer voting system that allows shareware authors, journalists, and reviewers to vote for the best program in several categories.
