Design

Many companies do not have the manufacturing capabilities, but can provide the support needed to develop the concept and complete the physical design of an MCM. Most also have manufacturing sources to which they can direct their customers.

Manufacturing

Here's where the rubber meets the road. There are a variety of companies whose specialty is to provide manufacturing (assembly and test) services to customers who have their own designs. Normally these companies has their own design guidelines to which their customers must adhere, but even then there is a wide degree of flexibility in the design requirements. Generally, these companies provide one, but not all, of the MCM-D, MCM-L, and MCM-C types of MCMs.
