BASIC Dialects - Commercial
Despite Microsoft's move from VB6 to an all .NET strategy, there continue to be a variety of BASIC programming languages which attract programmers. Here are several lists which break out the various BASIC dialects, providing information to help you select the one that's best for you.

These lists are limited to only those dialects which will generate Windows EXE files.

You may also find my section on comparison of language functions helpful in selecting a language for your programming needs.

Commercial BASIC
The usual benefit of these commercial offerings is more features, improved documentation, more frequent updates and better technical support.

In the list below I've separated out those dialects whose web sites indicate that gaming was a key goal in the development of the language. Of course, any of the products can create games but may not include special features dedicated to making game creation easy.

If you are aware of a BASIC dialect that should be on this list, please let me know.
