BASIC Dialects - Most Popular
Despite Microsoft's move from VB6 to an all .NET strategy, there continue to be a variety of BASIC programming languages which attract programmers. Here are several lists which break out the various BASIC dialects, providing information to help you select the one that's best for you.

These lists are limited to only those dialects which will generate Windows EXE files.

Most Popular Languages
There's no exact way to measure the most popular programming languages, much less to simply agree on what constitutes 'most popular'. Nonetheless, there are several competing "Top 100" lists, such as those at Sententia cdsmithus, Arbinger Systems and Tiobe.

Those lists include entries for BASIC, Euphoria, and REALBasic. You might want to check out the list to see where they fall.

Please note that there's plenty of controversy on the accuracy of these lists, so don't get too carried away with any absolute position of any particular language.
