Web Sites - General Coverage
There are a large number of web sites which provide information on QBasic, GW-BASIC,
and QuickBasic. All are useful sites for the QBasic programmer.
I've broken the sites into various categories, depending on the content
available at the site.
General Coverage
Having a full range of content (tutorials, files, forums, games, links and news)
at one site is very convenient. These sites provide most, if not all, of these features
at one location, making your search for QBasic information much easier.
See the bottom of this page for how sites were ranked, but basically a perfect score of 5
stars requires excellence in each of the categories. I was surprised to find that barely
25% of the sites are actively updated. Fortunately several of the older sites still contain
relevant, useful information. Forums, especially, are the exception. Even on inactive
sites, the forums see some level of activity, although most forum traffic levels are very low
(1 per day or less).
I'm continuing to look for actively supported sites, and I welcome suggestions for the list
as well as suggestions where a rating may not have been appropriate.

These sites are general purpose file archiving sites. They contain sections of QBasic files.
Web Site Review Process
Here's the method I used to rate web sites. In this category "General" web sites,
the ranking is based on having all of the features that make up a good site, with extra
credit given for features outside the standard categories.
A perfect site could get up to 60 points, which I scale down to a maximum of 5 stars for
inclusion in the list at the top of this page. Each site is rated from 1-3 on each of the
categories, then multiplied by the weighted value for each category. Then points are
added/subtracted for special features and for whether the site is being actively worked.
These sites are listed from high to low.
I welcome suggestions for additions to this list.
