Programmers Tool - Code Librarian
In addition to your programming language, what do you need to be a successful programmer? One part of the answer is the right set of tools, including many not provided as a part of the language distribution. The old saying "It's a poor carpenter who blames his tools!" may be true, but having good tools definitely gives a good programmer a head start.

Code Librarian
The single most used programmer's tool I own is a code librarian. When I'm coding, I'm not interested in wasting time by recreating code that I've used a hundred times before, and that's what my code librarian does for me. Source code, ready at hand for insertion into my application is the single best productivity code a programmer can have.

My recommendation for a code librarian is my own freeware code librarian, gbCodeLib.

It is a multi-language freeware code librarian with an easy-to-use interface and provides one of the largest feature sets of any code librarian available today. Over 1000 sample source code snippets, including language mini-tutorials, are included in the distribution.

gbCodeLib includes source code for the Top 100 Code Snippets. I'm working to add coverage of the Top 100 Code Snippets to all of the languages included in the gbCodeLib distribution.
