Her early marriage years were filled with hard work and frequent
moves, ending in Oklahoma. She and David moved to California
where all 3 of here children were born. After the birth of
her children, the family returned to Oklahoma where David
worked road construction until he retired. David's work
caused the family to live in almost 40 towns over a 20 year
period before retiring in Elk City, where other family members
lived. Ruby was a big smoker (Camels, unfiltered) and loved
to go fishing. She earned money at various jobs over the
years but did best at quilting. Ruby was a big socializer and
made everyone feel at home. If came to visit Ruby, you also
had to eat there. Friends and family always seemed to "stop
by" about dinner time. A game of cards was always in the make,
with Pitch being the family favorite.
