gbHexViewer
gbHexViewer
gbHexViewer is a hex file viewer. It is an intentually minimal application which focuses on displaying files in hexadecimal format.
Feature List
gbHexViewer the following features.
- View files in hexadecimal format
- Adjustable # of characters displayed per line
- Ease of switching between 8-char and 16-char displays
- Search dialog
- Edit list of characters that will display normally
- Font Selection
- Normal text viewing of file content
- Auto-Adjust Dialog width to match width of displayed characters
- Copy Selection
- Online Help
Toolbar
Most gbHexViewer features or settings are accessed through the toolbar buttons.
- Open
Open and select a file for viewing
- Searchs
Opens a Search dialog. Hex or text strings may be used as search terms.
- Hex View
Views the file in hex format. On by default, View the file as normal text when unpressed.
- Font
Opens a font selection dialog
- Settings
When pressed, cycles through the 8/16/custom hex widths. The drop down menu contains the
additional options:
- Auto-Adjust Dialog Width
- Set Visible Characters
- Set Hex Width
- Set Hex Width = 8
- Set Hex Width = 16
- Help
Opens this online Help page.
Keyboard Shortcuts
The following key combinations are available to the user to access gbHexViewer features:
- F1 - Help
- F3 - Open Search Dialog
- Ctrl-F - Open Search Dialog
- Ctrl-H - Toggle Hex and Text Views
- Ctrl-O - Select and Open a File
- Ctrl-N - Find Next
- Ctrl-P - Find Previous

Sessions
When gbHexViewer starts, it restores the previous session content (displays
the file being viewed when gbHexViewer was closed).
INI File
gbHexViewer application settings are saved in an INI file, kept in the same folder as the gbHexViewer application.
